GIS Mapping to Support Firehouse Redistricting

HDM assisted the Town of Belmont, MA in determining which of three fire stations to close. By geocoding the locations of past fire and ambulance calls, HDM was able to calculate the response times under each of the redistricting scenarios. Additional features such as locations of special equipment were included in the analysis to improve its validity. Maps and graphics were produced for public hearings and presentations that supported the continued operation of all three stations.
