Combined Sewer Overflow Modeling and Data Mapping

HDM was a major contributor to the redesign of combined sewer overflows (CSO) for the MWRA. HDM managed all data for this project, including GIS data, Oracle databases and modeling system data. Database tables in Oracle DBMS were created for interface with modeling and GIS systems. HDM participated in a complex modeling of the 60 individual communities required for this study and provided GIS mapping services with dozens of data layers using ArcInfo software. The results of this process saved MWRA over $900 million in construction costs avoided.
