To support the merger activities of two health care systems, HDM provided detailed analysis of each facility’s patterns of utilization and the potential impact of facility closings. A variety of data was used in the analysis, including utilization rates of specific patient services, patient-to-hospital trip data, drive time via road networks, and demographic data. HDM's analyses led to a clear determination of which facility locations should be maintained to ensure least interruption in service.
