Highway Performance Data Mapping

HDM was key in establishing Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) reporting standards for integration in the national GIS. HDM integrated data from three states, each of which use different varieties of Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) to describe the locations of intersections, highway structures and sections of pavement. HDM reduced the variation in LRS formats, enabling the FHWA to incorporate highway data into a national GIS.
