HDM Featured in Independent Study on Risk Management

Cambridge, MA ... A major independent research study identified Harvard Design & Mapping Co., Inc. (HDM) as a leading provider of strategic risk management technology for the property and casualty industry.

The study entitled "The Challenge and Methods of Modeling Natural Risks" was published by the TowerGroup, a provider of information technology research and consulting services. It details how until recently, the process of geographically representing exposures to natural risks underwriters was laborious, requiring the manual transfer of property data from spreadsheets to actual geographic maps.

Richard Roby, research director for TowerGroup's Insurance Practice, identifies HDM as able to provide "support when an insurance company wishes to expand the use of geo-coded information from the desktop to the enterprise."
