Kija Kim, President, CEO and co-founder of Harvard Design and Mapping (HDM) is featured in new book taking a fresh look at the roles of women in high tech and their roles as entrepreneurs. The book, "Women in High Tech Visions of Change", by author Dr. Esther M. Pearson, provides the insights of six New England women CEOs for establishing a high tech company. The women featured describe their preparation for high tech careers, the challenges, victories and rewards. In her book, Dr. Pearson describes Ms. Kim's strengths and abilities. Practical is one of the words that best describe Kija and her vision for change. She envisioned using technology in practical ways and combined this with her background in Geography and thus, HDM was founded. Since it's founding, Kija has built a network that brings academia, government and business people to champion her vision. In response, Kija has tirelessly worked as a board member for business, government and academia. She believes in public service and political activity and strives to make a difference in every area to which she is involved. Media communications to include magazines, textbooks, television and newspapers have all acknowledged Kija's expertise. To her credit, governors, senators, and the United States Congress have acknowledged Kija as a business leader. Author, Dr. Esther M. Pearson, believes knowledge; exposure and learning from others experiences is key to success in the high tech industry.
