Kija Kim Named to Massachusetts Health Data Consortium Board of Directors

Cambridge, MA ... Massachusetts Health Data Consortium (MHDC) named Ms. Kija Kim co-founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of HDM of Cambridge, MA and Washington, DC to the Consumer/Public Interest seat on its Board of Directors.

An active participant in business and community affairs, Ms. Kim is recognized for her personal and professional contributions. She recently received the Women-Owned Business Enterprise Award from the U.S. Department of Transportation in recognition of her significant contribution to the transportation industry and the nation’s economy. Ms. Kim was also named one of Enterprising Women"s Top Ten Women in Technology.

Specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Ms. Kim"s firm, HDM, provides innovative services and products to the risk management, transportation and health care industries worldwide. HDM was recently awarded an SBIR contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop a GIS-based system for Rapid Population Assessment in Complex Humanitarian Emergencies (CHE).

Reacting to this honor, Ms. Kim said, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to support the MHDC"s critical work in collecting, analyzing and disseminating health care information. I hope that through my personal and professional insights that I can contribute to improving the region's health care information infrastructure."

Founded in 1978, the Massachusetts Health Data Consortium develops, collects, analyzes and disseminates information on health care throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The non-profit organization works with providers, hospitals, government planners, employers, labor, HMOs, insurers and academic researchers to promote the benefits of a shared information exchange.

Remarking to Ms. Kim on her Board participation, Elliot Stone, Executive Director and CEO of Massachusetts Health Data Consortium MHDC President stated, "Your work is an important effort that my members need to know more about."
