Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC)
HDM is a national leader in the development of GIS data Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) systems. Since 1992, FEMA has relied on HDM's expertise in independent quality control for its most important data set, Q3 and DFIRM flood data. HDM's review of this data is the "last stop" before it is made available thousands of daily business and individual users. HDM has, therefore, been vigilant about maintaining the highest quality standards for this data. To this end, HDM developed an extensive and advanced web and rules-based QA/QC system to review digitized flood data provided by three major engineering firms. HDM's system automates previously manual processes, and provides greater assurance that FEMA flood data meets FEMA's rigorous quality standards. HDM's QA/QC professionals also visually screen each digital flood map panel for any errors or other issues. HDM also provided GIS data Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) for oil and natural gas pipeline data submitted by energy companies and states to the Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS) at the U.S. Department of Transportation. As the quality control subcontractor to Michael Baker Company, HDM has reviewed thousands of miles of existing pipeline data in dozens of states. HDM's expert QA/QC staff reviews the data for each pipeline prior to its inclusion in the National Pipeline Repository at OPS. Contact us for more information. |
